Based on the client’s desire to achieve formal cogency and austerity, a white cube is set on a hillside as a clear response to the site. Only one of the faces opens towards the valley to capture sunlight and stare at the landscape.

At the owner’s request the house provides just one bedroom and an independent working area. The main living areas occupy the double-height of this inhabited box.
